2.5 Characteristics
* AC rated voltage U(Um) is 10 (12)kV or 35 (42) kV. The cables can be used in systems where each single earth failure time is not more than 1 min. They are also can be used in systems where the maximum earth failure time is not more than 8h and accumulated earth failure time is not more than 125h.
* Ambient temperature of installation is not lower than -20℃.
* Max. temperature of cable in case of short circuit (Max. duration is not more than 5s):
- XLPE: 250℃
- HDPE: 150℃
* Max. permissible long-term operation temperature of cable:
- XLPE insulation: 90℃
- HDPE insulation: 75℃
* Bend radius:
Single core cable - ≮ 20(D+d)
Multi-core cable: - ≮15(D+d)
D - outer diameter of cable, mm
d – outer diameter of conductor, mm

* Insulation resistance test
Immerse the drum with cable in water at room temperature at lest 1h, then apply DC voltage 80-500V and keep it stabilize 1-5min. The tested insulation resistances shall be as follows:
- 10kV cable: ≮1500 MΩ.km.
- Light cable with thin insulation: 1000 ≮MΩ.km
- 35kV cable: ≮ 4100 MΩ.km
* AC Voltage Test
Immerse the drum with cable in water at room temperature at lest 1h, then apply test voltage 1 min, the cable shall be not breakdown. The test voltages shall be as follows:
- 10kV cable: general type-18kV, light type-12kV
- 35kV cable: 63kV
* Partial Discharge Test
The partial discharge value of 3-core 10kV overhead cable with insulation screen: ≯20pC
